The 2025 Solar Regatta engineering competition in Nizhny Novgorod

On August 30, a spectacular event took place on the waters of Nizhny Novgorod: the “Solar Regatta 2025” engineering competition. The project serves as a catalyst for technological breakthroughs, uniting science, education, and real-world production to create the eco-friendly transport of the future. Through the practical implementation of innovations, we are shaping a new generation of specialists capable of changing the energy landscape of Russia and the world.
The event brought together 11 school teams, who demonstrated unique developments—boats powered entirely by solar energy.
The competition included three main stages:
— Speed race: testing the capabilities of solar panels and electric motors.
— Obstacle course: testing maneuverability and precision control.
— Endurance marathon: testing the reliability of structures and the efficiency of energy systems.
The participants demonstrated not only technical expertise but also a new approach to solving the problems of eco-mobility. Each boat was a unique project, created by the students themselves.
The Solar Regatta is becoming a traditional venue for:
— Developing young engineering talent
— Promoting environmentally friendly technologies
— Creating a community of alternative energy specialists
