РусскийMARINET on-site project education session has opened in Nizhny Novgorod
On September 7, a two-week MARINET project session for schoolchildren has opened in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The session is organized by the Center for the Development of Creativity of Children and Youth of the Nizhny Novgorod Region together with Nizhny Novgorod Children’s River Shipping Company in the format of intensive training sessions for schoolchildren under the programs “Ship modeling” and “Marine robotics”.
Program Manager – Dyakov Vladimir Ivanovich, Director of Nizhny Novgorod Children’s River Shipping Company. The camp participants will be 50 schoolchildren of the Nizhny Novgorod region who have passed the competitive selection (presentation of the portfolio, presentation and defense of the project).
The camp program consists of two blocks: theoretical and practical.
The speakers of the theoretical block are representing the country’s leading universities, corporations and industrial enterprises: the State Maritime University named after F.F. Ushakov, Sevastopol State University, Far Eastern Research, Design and Survey and Design and Technological Institute of the Marine Fleet (DNIIMF), Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Fleet, St. Petersburg Maritime State Technical University, Center for the Development of Robotics, Kaliningrad State Technical University, Maritime State University named after Admiral G.I. Nevelskoy, Branch Center “MARINET”, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, SCANEX Group, LLC “Radio Navigation Company”, LLC “Nonius Engineering”, JSC NPP AME, JSC “Baltic Plant” and others.
As part of the practical block, young shipbuilding engineers will work on projects to create a radio-controlled model of a solar-powered ship. This includes the development of blueprints and 3D models, subsequent 3D printing and model production and testing.
The on-site shift in the context of the coronavirus pandemic required significant sanitary and organizational measures to ensure the safety of the participants, which is a valuable experience for further activities in the “new normality”.
