Video of autonomous navigation in real operation is presented for the first time

A video recording of the entire a-Navigation complex in real operation was first shown to representatives of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), shipping companies and scientific centers during an online conference on a-Navigation in Moscow.

“Russia avails regulatory and technology assets to offer all interested parties. I welcome all countries to join our experience providing exceptional opportunities for all mankind in terms of navigation safety”, – said AleksandrPoshivai by inviting Conference participants to enjoy the video of an example of a-Navigation Trial Project.

“This year, we are completing a large-scale a-Navigation Trial Project – in real conditions – and beginning a national experiment on the trial operation of autonomous vessels under the Russian flag. In December last year, the Russian government, the Flag State administration, approved the Decree on conducting such an experiment, considering the IMO’s Interim Guidelines for the Maritime Autonomous Ships Trials. In accordance with it, any shipping company will be able to equip its ships under the Russian flag with autonomous navigation systems and operate them in their regular activities as part of the national experiment”, – he emphasized. “Russia – the country of sailors of the XXI century” has opened classes

On October 1, Marine Center of Captain Varukhin (in Velikiy Novgorod) opens new classes as a part of the project “Russia – the country of sailors of the XXI century.” It was launched last year with support of NTI and MARINET; under the project the Marine Center was equipped with modern simulators and navigation equipment on training ships.

About 200 children from Mari El, Karelia, Arkhangelsk, Yaroslavl, Novosibirsk, Tambov, Kostroma, Vologda, Novgorod regions as well as St. Petersburg entered the first stage of the Ship Operator program. 145 attendees of clubs of young sailors from five regions, who started training last year, passed to the second stage.

Applications for the competition “UMNIK-Marinet” for young scientists is open

The Foundation for Support of Innovations and MARINET announces the opening of accepting applications for the UMNIK-Marinet competition. Students, graduate students, young scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs and employees of high-tech companies aged 18 to 30 can take part in the competition. The winners of the “UMNIK-Marinet” competition will receive a grant of 500 thousand rubles for two years.

MARINET is developing cooperation with Norwegian partners

The two-day Russian-Norwegian seminar on the development of cooperation in the field of civil shipbuilding, which was attended by representatives of more than 30 companies and organizations of the two countries, was hold on May 28-29, 2019 in Alesund (Norway). The main topics of the seminar were cooperation in the field of localization of solutions of Norwegian companies in Russia and cooperation in the field of innovation and high-tech solutions within the MARINET platform.

13th International Navigation Forum in Moscow Expo on 23-24 of April

The 13th International Navigation Forum will be held in Moscow on April 23-24. This the central event of year in the field of the use of satellite navigation technologies in the Russian Federation and EAEU countries.

The main purpose of the Forum is to inform international audience about state policies in the field of the development and use of GLONASS technologies, to analyze technology and market trends of the navigation industry, including perspective directions of different kinds of unmanned transport, to discuss a status and development prospects of products and services using navigation technologies, as well as opportunities for international collaboration and cooperation in the field of navigation activities. MARINET at the VI International Forum “Arctic Projects – Today and Tomorrow”

MARINET will participate in the in VI International Forum “Arctic Projects – Today and Tomorrow” held on October 18-19  in the city of Arkhangelsk.

MARINET participants will present own projects on October 18, and on October 19 the round table “Intercluster and interregional cooperation within the framework of MARINET” will be organized. During the round table, representatives of the MARINET, the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region, the regional shipbuilding cluster and regional enterprises will discuss the opportunities provided by MARINET for the regional shipbuilding development.

Within the thematic sessions of the forum, the results of several MARINET projects will be presented: MPAC-3D (Marine Innovations) – “New opportunities for the exploration of the seabed and engineering surveys”, (more…)

e-Navigation testbed and development of equipment for e-Navigation

e-Navigation concept is developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to improve shipping through better organization of data on ships and on shore, and better data exchange and communication between ships and the ship and shore.

The project contributes to the development of software and equipment for implementation of the e-Navigation concept as well as development of commercial products for e-Navigation which are based on the solutions developed under the given project.

Graduates of the program “Big Challenges” will take part in the world scientific fair IntelISEF

A team of talented students who took part in the “Big Challenges” program at the Sirius Educational Center in 2017 will represent Russia at the world scientific fair IntelISEF (USA), the awards of which are called the “small Nobel Prize”. Schoolchildren present two projects implemented in the “Big Challenges” program in the direction of World Ocean Development, organized with the support of MARINET: “Modeling of floating objects on the sea surface” and “Assessment of anthropogenic pressure on the Russian part of the Black Sea”.

The opportunity to represent Russia at the world scientific fair IntelISEF was won by students at the XIV Baltic Science and Engineering Competition on February 6-8, 2018 in St. Petersburg. The Baltic Science and Engineering Competition has been held in St. Petersburg since 2005 and is one of the largest scientific competitions for schoolchildren in Russia. R&D works within Development-NTI Program are presented at the conference in Novorossiysk

On 17 October 2017, Admiral Ushakov Maritime State University hosted the regional conference of MARINET in Novorossiysk. Among traditional issues for the regional conference the participants reviewed preliminary results of 20 R&D works developed within the framework of Development-NTI Program.

The regional conference gathered over 30 participants including representatives of Admiral Ushakov Maritime State University, regional companies and organizations as well as MARINET experts.

Open platform to develop the unmanned navigation systems based on computer simulation in virtual environment

The project creates an open-code platform for the safe and efficient validation of unmanned navigation systems. The solution integrates a lot of different simulation models and is the first to offer a full-scale model of an autonomous ship. This model will include:

– ship navigation model;

– 3d ship & environment visualization model;
