Simulator for remote operators of inland water autonomous vessel presented

In 2023, MARINET together with industrial partner NPK Systems and Technologies, developed draft national standards GOST R “Operator simulator for an autonomous inland water merchant vessel. Terms and definitions” and GOST R “Operator simulator for an autonomous inland water merchant vessel” and a prototype of the simulator for remote operators of inland water autonomous vessel “ASM – 2023”. Video of autonomous navigation in real operation is presented for the first time

A video recording of the entire a-Navigation complex in real operation was first shown to representatives of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), shipping companies and scientific centers during an online conference on a-Navigation in Moscow.

“Russia avails regulatory and technology assets to offer all interested parties. I welcome all countries to join our experience providing exceptional opportunities for all mankind in terms of navigation safety”, – said AleksandrPoshivai by inviting Conference participants to enjoy the video of an example of a-Navigation Trial Project.

“This year, we are completing a large-scale a-Navigation Trial Project – in real conditions – and beginning a national experiment on the trial operation of autonomous vessels under the Russian flag. In December last year, the Russian government, the Flag State administration, approved the Decree on conducting such an experiment, considering the IMO’s Interim Guidelines for the Maritime Autonomous Ships Trials. In accordance with it, any shipping company will be able to equip its ships under the Russian flag with autonomous navigation systems and operate them in their regular activities as part of the national experiment”, – he emphasized. Autonomous and Remote Navigation Trial Project starts wide autonomous navigation

Autonomous and Remote Navigation Trial Project (ARNTP) is implemented as a part of the “MARINET” roadmap of the National Technology Initiative with support by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, with the involvement of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

The strategic aim of the project is the establishment of technical and legal conditions for the wide maritime autonomous surface ships (MASS) operation by shipping companies under the flag of Russian Federation from 2021 January and in any other country which will be ready to follow our approach.

Russia announced a series of projects in the field of unmanned navigation

In the framework of the international exhibition SMM in Hamburg,  MARINET hosted the international conference dedicated to the most promising technologies for the maritime industry, which was attended by companies and research centers from different countries of the world.

The conference program included panel discussions on digital navigation and unmanned vessels, as well as a pitch session on the marine robotics.

During the conference, Alexey Donskoy, Director of Engineering Center of Shipbuilding (ECS) told about the successful creation of unmanned boats by SPE AME and the conversion of the developed technologies for the civil shipbuilding. ECS in cooperation with AME plans to start in 2018 and 2019 a number of pilot projects to test autonomous and remote control vessels: sea/river bulk cargo ship, a small-tonnage tanker,  a ferry and an icebreaker.

MARINET’s Roadmap on improving legislation has been approved

The roadmap developed by the MARINET and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to improve legislation and remove administrative barriers has been approved by the Government of Russia. The roadmap is aimed at creating conditions for promotion of new products and services to the market, support of new types of business activities, applying new business models, and stimulating the advanced implementation of high technologies in the maritime industry.

The implementation of the roadmap supposes the support of activities of the government authorities, companies, public organizations to implement initiatives aimed at promising technological markets of the global maritime industry: digital navigation (e-Navigation), ocean resources development technologies and innovative shipbuilding. First international agreements are signed by MARINET in China

The first international business mission in the MARINET history has been succesfully completed with signing of four agreements and more than 10 MoI. MARINET projects to be placed in CTEX (China technology exchange), MARINET participants have estableshed direct links with Chinese partners while MARINET will continue active development of international cooperation and promotion in China and in other countries.

MARINET regional conference in Kaliningrad on 21 July

The regional conference of MARINET will be open on 21st of July at 10:00 in the main building of Kaliningrad State Technical University. During the conference the representatives of Kaliningrad companies, research and training centers will be able to know more about MARINET activities and take part in the meeting of the MARINET Human Resource Development expert group. Also you will see the regional stage of the Solar Regatta, engineer competition provided within the MARINET roadmap implementation.

MARINET working group on improving legislation is established

In accordance with decision by the Interdepartmental Working Group of NTI the MARINET working group on improving legislation is established. The working group is authorized for preparation of proposals for the development of new regulatory and legal acts, proposals for changes in regulatory legal acts as well as making conclusions on draft regulatory and legal acts that affect the implementation of the MARINET roadmap.

The aim of the work is to stimulate the implementation of MARINET high technologies and solutions, the development of promising markets, the removal of administrative barriers to the markets and technologies.
