Graduates of the program “Big Challenges” will take part in the world scientific fair IntelISEF

A team of talented students who took part in the “Big Challenges” program at the Sirius Educational Center in 2017 will represent Russia at the world scientific fair IntelISEF (USA), the awards of which are called the “small Nobel Prize”. Schoolchildren present two projects implemented in the “Big Challenges” program in the direction of World Ocean Development, organized with the support of MARINET: “Modeling of floating objects on the sea surface” and “Assessment of anthropogenic pressure on the Russian part of the Black Sea”.

The opportunity to represent Russia at the world scientific fair IntelISEF was won by students at the XIV Baltic Science and Engineering Competition on February 6-8, 2018 in St. Petersburg. The Baltic Science and Engineering Competition has been held in St. Petersburg since 2005 and is one of the largest scientific competitions for schoolchildren in Russia. Over 40 applications are submitted for the UMNIC final

On December 20, JSC “United Shipbuilding Corporation” hosted the final selection of the UMNIC program in the MARINET areas. The UMNIC program of the Fund for the Promotion of Innovation is aimed at supporting commercially oriented scientific and technical projects of young researchers, for the second year it has been conducted for the MARINET areas.

Within the program, the Foundation provides grants for scientific research carried out by specialists aged 18 to 30 years.

This year, about 70 applications for various directions of the Marinet road map were submitted to the correspondence stage of the competition, over 40 of them were submitted for the final selection stage.

Educational program for design of vessels using renewable energy

The SSU has developed an educational program for advanced training for the ANO “National Center for Engineering Competitions and Competitions”: “The Theory of Design of Vessels Using Alternative (Renewable) Sources of Energy”, Portnews reported.

On September 20-30 an approbation of this program of additional professional education was carried out in the educational and laboratory complex of REC “Center for Marine Research and Technologies”. 12 students took part (the direction of training is the design and construction of vessels and oceanic equipment ships). The program plan is designed for 72 academic hours. Classes were held in full-time for 9 days for 8 academic hours.

R&D works within Development-NTI Program are presented at the conference in Novorossiysk

On 17 October 2017, Admiral Ushakov Maritime State University hosted the regional conference of MARINET in Novorossiysk. Among traditional issues for the regional conference the participants reviewed preliminary results of 20 R&D works developed within the framework of Development-NTI Program.

The regional conference gathered over 30 participants including representatives of Admiral Ushakov Maritime State University, regional companies and organizations as well as MARINET experts.

Russia and India to cooperate on development of high-speed maritime transport

M.O.H. Group (India), RDC Aqualines Company (Russia), Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce & Industries and Russia’s National Technological Initiative have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop the production and operation of new high-speed maritime crafts. The document has been signed today, September 20th, at the MariNet booth of the NEVA 2017, IAA PortNews correspondent reports from the exhibition.

The MoU was signed by M.O.H. Iqubal (M.O.H. Group), A.Sivathanu Pillai and P.Thangappan (IRCCI), Pavel Tsarapkin (RDC Aqualines Company) and Alexander Pinskiy (MARINET).

First international agreements are signed by MARINET in China

The first international business mission in the MARINET history has been succesfully completed with signing of four agreements and more than 10 MoI. MARINET projects to be placed in CTEX (China technology exchange), MARINET participants have estableshed direct links with Chinese partners while MARINET will continue active development of international cooperation and promotion in China and in other countries.

MARINET working group on improving legislation is established

In accordance with decision by the Interdepartmental Working Group of NTI the MARINET working group on improving legislation is established. The working group is authorized for preparation of proposals for the development of new regulatory and legal acts, proposals for changes in regulatory legal acts as well as making conclusions on draft regulatory and legal acts that affect the implementation of the MARINET roadmap.

The aim of the work is to stimulate the implementation of MARINET high technologies and solutions, the development of promising markets, the removal of administrative barriers to the markets and technologies.

Project “MPC-3D” for 3D modeling and areal survey of sea-bed is supported by NTI

New MARINET project is supported by NTI – Development of multi-purpose software-hardware complex for 3D modeling and areal survey of sea-bed for the purpose of mineral resources exploration and engineering-geological support for the construction of underwater structures. The project budget is 15 MUSD including 8,25 MUSD of government support within the NTI.

A multi-purpose hardware-software complex is developed by Marine Innovarion Ltd. for high-precision 3D modeling of sea-bed structure for the purpose of mineral resources exploration and monitoring, as well as for for conduction of engineer-surveys on the shelf consisting of the following inter-related modules:

MARINET launches the new expert group for the Human Resource Development

New MARINET expert group is established during the MARINET Meeting and regional conference in Tomsk which were held as a part of Young Scientists Forum U-NOVUS (May 18). New expert group will work on educational projects selection and support, talents attraction and development in the maritime industry.

“There is a clear connection between the most promising segments of the marine industry represented by MARINET and the development of educational technologies,” said MARINET Leader, Sergei Generalov. – On the one hand, new directions will require personnel with significantly different, new skills and knowledge. On the other hand, the perspective directions of MARINET can serve as targets for the training centers and universities””

New 20 projects are approved by MARINET during the meeting in Nizhny Novgorod

The MARINET Meeting in an expanded format, which was attended by more than 100 representatives of leading companies, scientific centers and universities of the marine industry, as well as government agencies and development institutions, was held February 28 in the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R.E. Alekseev. The practice of regional MARINET meetings is aimed at attracting new participants projects at the expense of representatives of the regions. Nizhny Novgorod, which is one of the leading centers of Russian shipbuilding, information technology and instrumentation, has become a new step in the regional development of MARINET. (more…)
